Estimator/Purchaser, CNC Machine Shop (Full-Time)

As an onsite Estimator/Purchaser, CNC Machine Shop with Augustine Die & Mold, Inc. (ADM), you will own the lead role in responding to RFQs by developing competitive, cost-effective quotes for CNC machining and tooling in a timely manner. Apply your knowledge of CNC machining processes, raw materials purchasing, labor costs, quality control, and other techniques to maximize ADM’s cost-effective manufacture and on-time delivery. Responsibilities/Duties

• Report directly to Operations Manager and Production Manager.
• Receive and promptly review customers’ Requests for Quotes (RFQs).
• Gather blueprints, specifications, vendor pricing, and all related RFQ documents.
• Utilize ERP/MRP system to generate competitive, cost-effective quotes for presentation to customers in a timely manner.
• Use your knowledge of CNC machines and equipment to schedule items necessary to estimate production cycles. Actual CNC machining experieince is a plus.
• Estimate manufacturing hours for each component determined to be manufactured in house.
• Purchase raw materials by verifying specifications and price.
• Prepare and be responsible for all job packets for manufacturing processes on the shop floor.
• Manage relationships with key suppliers to maintain quality of goods, timely delivery, and compliance with terms of contracts.
• Interact daily with Production Manager to resolve issues regarding manufacturing efficiencies.
• Other duties as assigned.
  
  

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience as an Estimator/Purchaser for a CNC machine shop
• Extensive knowledge of precision CNC machine shop operations, materials, and shop supplies
• Proven experience in reading, understanding, and interpreting blueprints and specifications
• Proven experience purchasing raw materials by verifying specifications and price
• Proven experience in negotiating prices and terms and conditions
• Ability to plan, organize, and execute multiple tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Excellent time-management, math, problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• CNC machining is a plus
• Experience utilizing ERP/MRP systems to generate quotes (preferably ShopTech E2 Shop System Estimating and Quoting Software)
• Working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 and AS910D Quality Management Systems
  
  

Education/Experience

• High school diploma or GED required
• Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in CNC machining cost estimating and materials purchasing required
