Augustana University invites applications for the position of Assistant Director of Financial Aid. This full-time position plays a key role in supporting students and families through the financial aid process while assisting in the administration of institutional, state, federal, and private financial aid programs. The Assistant Director will collaborate across campus to support enrollment initiatives, ensure regulatory compliance, and contribute to a student-centered financial aid experience.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Counseling students and families regarding scholarships, need analysis, FAFSA completion, financing options, and financial aid processes
- Constructing and managing financial aid awards for undergraduate and graduate students
- Presenting at on-campus and off-campus events
- Monitoring regulatory updates and participating in the development of innovative financial aid strategies
- Participating in office policy development and continuous process improvement efforts
Required qualifications include:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Minimum of three years of experience in higher education, preferably in financial aid or enrollment services
- Knowledge of federal and state financial aid regulations
- Strong organizational, communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations and constituencies
- Experience with higher education systems such as Jenzabar, COD, NSLDS, ARMS, Award Management, or related systems preferred
