Lead, Merchandise Special Projects

The Lead, Special Projects, serves as the central owner of specialized merchandise requests and is responsible for the intake, coordination, and execution from concept to delivery, of special merchandise requests and projects that support employees, the Club, the Tournament, the Game, and the Community. This role serves as the centralized point of ownership for gifting, special product requests, and Partner event needs. The Lead, Special Projects ensures timely, accurate, and consistent execution while upholding organizational standards, values, and service expectations.

This position is a full-time, on-site role in Augusta, GA.

Job Responsibilities

• Serve as the centralized owner for all special merchandise initiatives ensuring alignment with strategic objectives, brand standards, and stakeholder needs.
• Own end‑to‑end execution of special requests, from concept through delivery, ensuring a high standard of quality and consistency.
• Serve as the primary point of intake and ownership for all special and internal requests, including employee gifts, leadership and partner gifting, and custom merchandise projects.
• Intake, track, prioritize, and manage multiple concurrent requests using Wrike or similar project management tools.
• Ensure requests are reviewed, approved, and aligned to purpose, scope, and budget prior to execution.
• Own vendor and supplier communications for new item development, sourcing, pricing, and production.
• Coordinate with internal teams to pull, reserve, and deliver inventory items as needed.
• Develop and manage timelines across multiple requests; proactively identify and escalate risks or conflicts.
• Ensure accuracy, consistency, and attention to detail across all deliverables.
• Maintain documentation and historical records for repeatable programs and future reference.
• Partner cross‑functionally with Human Resources, Business Affairs, Club & Hospitality, Planning & Operations, Finance & IT, Tournament teams, and Leadership to support strategic initiatives and ensure successful execution and launch of projects.
• Support continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
• Uphold brand standards, service expectations, and organizational values across all projects.
• Uses best practices and knowledge of internal or external business processes to improve products or services.
• Supports Tournament week preparation through varies activities.
• Performs any other duties deemed by management to be an important part of the job.

• Acceptable level of hearing and vision to perform job duties.
• Occasionally required to walk and work with hands and arms, lift up to 25 pounds and/or drive a golf cart.
• Required to sit for long periods, sometimes for several hours at a time, and use their hands and fingers to operate a computer.

Qualifications

Skills/Knowledge/Attributes:

• Technical knowledge of fabrics, trims, and garment construction
• Excellent attention to detail, time management, and communication skills
• Collaborative, solutions-oriented, and able to execute multiple priorities
• Proven international sourcing experience and market awareness
• Computer skills to include Microsoft Office programs, as well as back-office inventory control software
• Demonstrated proficiency with ADOBE Creative Suite, including Illustrator and Photoshop
• Self-motivated and able to take the lead on projects while anticipating the needs of the team
• Ability to translate relevant consumer trends into Masters merchandise that will resonate to our patrons
• Knowledge of textiles and materials and the properties associated with the use and care
  
  

Relative Experience/Education

• Two (2) to four (4) years of product development experience, preferably in apparel or accessories required
• Bachelor’s degree in Product Development, Design or related field
  
  

Required License(s)

• Possess a valid driver’s license and/or successfully completes the Club’s internal motor vehicle training program
  
  

Projected Work Schedule

Normal work hours are 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
