What are the responsibilities and job description for the PURCHASING AGENT position at Augusta Health Brand?
Position acquires goods and services for the hospital according to policies and procedures.
Position reviews group purchasing contracts and private contracts to assure that purchases of goods and services are at the best possible price. Reviews group purchasing contracts and private contracts to maximize utilization and cost effectiveness. Assists in resolving receiving and invoice problems according accepted and established accounting procedure. Reviews and recommend solutions to receiving and invoice problems. Maintains the Supply Chain Information System and insures the accuracy of data. Maintains the accuracy of data and insures that all compliance standards are met related to computer data. Position Assists in conducting physical inventory.
Experience:
Minimum of one year of experience in purchasing in an acute care facility desired.
Education Requirements:
Associate Degree in Business Administration, Accounting or equivalent preferred.
Skill Desired:
Basic computer skills preferred including understanding of spreadsheets and word processing.
