Summary:
The Clinical Assistant is responsible for various office and clinical duties to assist doctor/nurse team.
Essential Duties:
- Bring patients back into the rooms, obtain vitals, record their history and medication in chart, assess/document their HPI
- Obtain diagnostic results on patients being seen throughout the day so that the MD can review results with the patient
- Clean/stock rooms and SMR units continuously throughout the day for patient care
- Set up for in office procedures/surgeries
- Assist with in office procedures/surgeries
- Make sure that all supplies and medications in the rooms are stocked and appropriately labeled at all times
- Clean, package, and autoclave instruments and procedure kits
- Maintain daily count/inventory of instruments in rooms
- Daily assessment of all sharps containers to include changing sharps containers weekly
- Weekly check/flushing of eye wash stations
- Weekly Cidex and autoclave water changes
- Weekly spore tests on autoclaves
- Keep all kits stocked/dated (including sinus, BM&T, minor procedure, FNA, epistaxis kits)
- Keep medication drawers and cabinets properly stocked daily
- Keep drawers/cabinets in lab stocked properly daily
- Keep Medication room and Lab clean
- Work with doctor/nurse as a team on a daily basis to provide patient care
- Shred all patient paper documents at the end of the day
- Keep drawers in rooms stocked with appropriate gloves, PPE, cups, basins etc.
- Stock all medication samples and supplies that are ordered in clinical dept
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to Multi-task effectively and efficiently
- Ability to travel to all Augusta ENT, P.C. locations (Aiken, Augusta, Evans)
- Computer skills – strong data entry
- High integrity, team player with patient service focus and flexibility
- Previous customer service experience
Desired Qualifications:
- RMA, CMA, MA, CNA, Surgical Tech, EMT
- 1-3 years clinical experience
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to meet the physical requirements of this position including but not limited to; Balancing, kneeling, crouching, reaching, stretching, lifting, grasping, standing, walking or sitting for extended periods of time
- Must have sufficient vision acuity and hearing with the ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make discriminations in sound
- Must be able have good communication skills with proper speaking etiquette to patients
