What are the responsibilities and job description for the credit union generalist position at Augusta County Federal Credit Union?
Primary Function: Serves as a liaison between the member and the Credit Union. Assist members daily with Credit Union transactions, while providing confidential, courteous and professional service. Provide account information by phone or in person, as well as information on the full range of credit union products and services. Be knowledgeable about the daily operations of the Credit Union and cross-trained. Handle many Credit Union duties in the course of a day without any one major focus. Provide a variety of transactional services to members.
Daily Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Attend to members at the counter, giving courteous, prompt, accurate service while maintaining member confidentiality. Direct counter members to appropriate person if unable to help.
2. Answer the telephone, transferring calls to proper personnel if unable to help.
3. Balance daily cash drawer and receipts to computer.
4. Open new member accounts (share & share draft)
5. Pick up mail and distribute it to appropriate personnel and processes mail transactions.
6. Handle daily Share Draft processing.
7. Handle member service functions for debit cards, including opening and closing accounts.
8. Receive and review loan applications for completeness, provide preliminary payment information, pull credit reports from Credit Bureau.
9. Process member transactions to include deposits, loan payments, withdrawals, transfers whether over the counter, by telephone or by mail.
10. Responsible for opening, renewing and surrendering Certificates of Deposits
11. Miscellaneous reports for members (verifications)
12. File member loan paperwork, insurance, titles, account cards
13. Put monthly share withdrawals in order for balancing.
14. Ensure that the teller station and lobby area are properly stocked with forms, supplies, brochures, etc.
15. Purge loan files by destroying out-of-date or unnecessary loan documents.
16. Cross train and provide backup support on a number of functions to include, ACH, Collections and Debit Card.
17. Inhouse Promotional Materials (update inhouse advertising Media)
18. Open and close Credit Union as needed.
19. Ensure that the manager is kept fully informed on any issues of importance in the operations of the Credit Union.
20. Perform other duties as required.
Pay: $33,280.00 - $37,440.00 per year
