Position: Sheet Metal Press Brake OperatorLocation: Frederick, MDShift: 2nd shift (2:00pm - 10:30pm; Monday - Friday)Pay: $21.50/hour, plus a $3/hour shift differential Job Overview of Press Brake Operator:We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Press Brake Operators. In this role, you will be responsible for operating press brake machines to bend and shape sheet metal components with precision and efficiency as well as plan, lay out, fabricate and repair sheet metal parts . The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, ability to read blueprint, and experience with various fabrication tools and machinery. Duties and Responsibilities of the Press Brake Operator:Set up and operate press brake machines to produce accurate bends according to detailed blueprints and specifications.Run hydraulic brake press and punches.Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and engineering documents to determine proper tooling and machine settings.Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and safety checks on press brake equipment to ensure optimal operation.Utilize precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify dimensions and tolerances.Collaborate with fabrication teams to ensure proper tooling selection for various sheet metal thicknesses and materials.Conduct quality inspections on finished parts using measurement tools and visual assessment to ensure compliance with specifications.Maintain a clean, organized work area while adhering to safety protocols related to machinery operation and material handlingSupport assembly processes by providing fabricated components that meet strict quality standards. Qualifications and Requirements: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent combination of education & experience.Minimum of 3 - 5 years of experience operating press brake machines.Must be able to run Hydraulic press brake and punchesMust be able to read a tape measure to 1/32nd inch.Must be able to follow verbal, written and pictorial instructions.Must be able to use hand tools.Must be able to trim, file, grind, deburr, buff, and smooth surfaces.Must be able to handle and operate machine.Must be able to operate a fork lift and other equipment used to move or place equipment as required.
