Maintenance Mechanic - 2nd shift

Position: Maintenance Mechanic

Location: Jessup, MD

Shift: 2nd shift (training is 12:00pm - 8:000m)

The shift hours will then go to 3:00pm - 11:00pm

Pay: $25.00 - $28.00/hour

Job Responsibilities of the Maintenance Mechanic:

• Evaluate the operating systems and offers improvement suggestions and assist in any redesign initiatives.
• Assist in inventory control and maintenance stores as required.
• Observe and listen to operating machines or equipment to diagnose machine malfunction and determine need for adjustment or repair.
• Dismantle machine or equipment to examine parts for defective or to remove defective part.
• Inspect and measures part to detect wear, misalignment, or other problems.
• Remove and replace worn or defective parts with new part or repairs of drive mechanism or hydraulic system.
• Realign and adjust components.
• Locate damaged air and hydraulic pipes on machine, and measures, cuts, threads, and installs new pipe as required.
• Assemble and test operates machine to verify correction of malfunction.
• Ability to weld and fabricate parts as needed to effect needed repairs.
• Maintain a relatively clean maintenance shop and ensure that all shop equipment is safe to use.

Qualifications for the Maintenance Mechanic position:

• Must have a high school diploma or GED
• Must have at least 3 years of recent maintenance experience working in a manufacturing environment.
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
• Must be able to pass a drug test.
