We’re currently hiring a Welder to support one of our top clients with the fabrication and repair of compactors, containers, and carts. If you're a hands-on problem solver with welding experience and a passion for doing work that matters, we want you on our team.
Job Summary
As a Welder, you’ll be responsible for performing fabrication, repair, and maintenance on heavy-duty waste and recycling equipment. This includes containers, carts, and compactors. You’ll apply a variety of welding techniques and mechanical skills to keep essential equipment safe, operational, and in compliance with industry standards.
Qualifications:Key Responsibilities
- Weld and fabricate containers, compactors, and carts using MIG, TIG, arc, and gas welding techniques.
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on hydraulic and electrical systems within compactors.
- Conduct visual inspections and safety checks on all equipment before and after repair.
- Operate cutting torches, grinders, and metal-forming tools to shape and prepare parts.
- Use prints, schematics, and verbal instructions to lay out and execute welds.
- Document all work and parts usage in the fleet maintenance system.
- Support field service repairs and emergency service calls when needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and OSHA-compliant work environment.
- Assist senior welders and other maintenance personnel with project work and heavy repairs.
- Complete work efficiently and within designated Standard Repair Times (SRTs).
Qualifications
- Experience: At least 2 years of welding or heavy equipment repair experience required.
- Education: High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
- Technical Skills:
- Familiarity with arc welding, MIG, TIG, gas welding, and brazing.
- Comfortable using fabrication tools and measuring equipment.
- Basic understanding of hydraulics and electrical troubleshooting.
- Physical Requirements:
- Able to lift 50 lbs and perform physical labor in shop or yard conditions.
- Willing to work in a shop environment with occasional exposure to heat, noise, and outdoor conditions.
- Other: Must pass a drug screen and background check.
