Position Summary
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for completing service requests, performing preventative maintenance, assisting with apartment make-readies, and ensuring the community remains clean, safe, and well-maintained. This position requires strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently while maintaining a high level of professionalism.
Essential Responsibilities
- Complete resident service requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Diagnose and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliance, drywall, flooring, and general maintenance issues.
- Perform preventative maintenance on building systems and equipment.
- Assist with apartment turns, inspections, and make-ready projects.
- Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of common areas, amenities, and exterior grounds.
- Respond to emergency maintenance calls as part of an on-call rotation.
- Follow all company safety policies and OSHA guidelines.
- Maintain accurate records of completed work orders.
- Provide outstanding customer service and communicate professionally with residents, vendors, and team members.
Qualifications
- EPA Certification (Required)
- Minimum of 2 years of apartment maintenance or related maintenance experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, and general building maintenance.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks including climbing stairs, ladders, bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred.
