The Audrain County Sheriff’s Office is seeking Corrections Officers.
Selection Requirements:
- U.S. Citizen
- 18 years of age
- Have a valid Missouri Driver’s License
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- Be able to pass a reference and background investigation
- Pass pre-employment Drug Screen
Non-commissioned Corrections Officers starting salary is $19.02 for day shift and $19.50 for night shift. Employees are eligible for 13 paid holidays, vacation time, sick time, multiple retirement plans, and are able to apply for the Police Academy sponsorship program. All needed equipment and uniforms will be supplied to officers. Paid health insurance, Dental and vision is offer but paid by the employee. The applicant must have the ability to work a twelve-hour shift.
Job Description – Maintaining safety and security throughout the facility. Controlling inmate movement through the operations of the security electronic system by escorting inmates through the facility, opening security doors, monitoring inmate activity/movement directly or indirectly or through security cameras. Communicating with inmates through the intercom on the security electronics system or face to face. Processing inmates in and out of the facility. Passing inmate uniforms, meals, canteen items, indigent supplies and library books.
