Our Client, a Large Financial Services Institution is seeking an Data and AI Risk & Governance Lead to join a growing team in NYC
Summary:
Reporting into the Head of AI Data and Risk Governance, you will play a vital role in developing and shaping outcomes for Data Governance and the safe and effective use of AI technology across the organization. You will support enterprise risk programs in Data and Artificial Intelligence (AI) and build relationships with partners across all divisions and risk domains and work with technical, legal and business teams to communicate risk findings and drive informed decision-making.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments of divisional data management and AI projects and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Develop and maintain AI governance guidance, ensuring alignment across the organization considering industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Promote transparency, fairness, and accountability in AI practices.
- Work closely with Information security teams to advise data management practices and address AI-specific security risks.
- Monitor for adherence to data and AI policies and standards, offering guidance as needed.
- Collaborate with technical, legal and business teams to communicate risk findings and drive informed decision-making.
- Help develop enterprise training to raise awareness of data management and AI risks and standard methodologies
- Partner on drafting appropriate enterprise KPIs, KRIs and Reporting to monitor risk in model data and AI programs.
Qualifications:
- 7 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree (preferably in related discipline)
- 5 years of experience in operational risk management, technology risk, information risk and/or model risk management
- 2 years of people management and leadership experience
- Strong knowledge of Data Management standards and methodologies as well as knowledge of AI technology (i.e. machine learning, natural language processing, large language models and computer vision)
- Familiarity with relevant regulations (i.e. GDPR, CCPA) and industry guidelines (i.e. IEEE Ethically Aligned Design, NIST, ISO/IEC 42001/ 23894)
- Strong problem-solving and execution abilities
- Excellent communication skills and collaborative skills and ability to work collaboratively, independently and as part of a team.
