- Assist with patient intake by collecting comprehensive medical histories, verifying insurance information, and updating electronic health records (EHR systems) efficiently.
- Measure vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration to support accurate clinical assessments.
- Support physicians and healthcare providers in procedures including medication administration, basic X-ray operations, and other diagnostic tests within scope of practice.
- Manage billing processes by coding diagnoses with ICD codes accurately, submitting claims promptly, and following up on unpaid or rejected claims to optimize revenue cycle management.
- Prepare patients for examinations or procedures by explaining protocols clearly and ensuring comfort throughout their visit.
- Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment adhering to safety standards; assist with specimen collection and processing as needed.
- Collaborate with hospital teams in inpatient settings or outpatient clinics, including specialties such as dermatology, internal medicine, geriatrics, or emergency medicine to deliver comprehensive patient care.
- Demonstrate proficiency in using EHR systems for documentation, scheduling, and billing tasks to streamline operations.
- Participate in ongoing training related to physiology knowledge, anatomy fundamentals, and emergency procedures such as Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Prior experience working as a Medical Assistant in outpatient clinics or hospital settings would help you excel in this role
- Demonstrated proficiency in medical billing practices including ICD coding and claim submission processes.
- Familiarity with EHR systems used for documentation and billing purposes; experience with hospital information systems preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and medication administration techniques required for effective patient support.
- Background working in fast-paced environments like urgent care centers or Level I/II trauma centers will help you excel in this role.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; additional certifications related to medical-surgical nursing or emergency medicine are a plus.
