Job Summary
Auburn Veterinary Hospital is very excited to expand our reception team! We are a few weeks from our company, with over 80 years of service in the Auburn community, being sold to the current owner’s daughter! Dr Cullom is Auburn born and raised and has practiced here since 2007.
If you can thrive in a busy environment and are interested in learning hospital and veterinary procedures, we would love to talk with you. Basic duties include appointment check-ins, drop-offs for grooming and boarding, as well as scheduling appointments, answering phones, charging out clients, maintaining client history and updating charts. Primarily we are looking for a person with a deep sense of compassion for both people and their pets to become a valued member of our staff.
Reception experience not required, but preferred. We are willing to train for those without veterinary reception experience.
Hours are full time. Currently we are open MTWF 8:45-6:00 Thurs 8:45-5:00 and some Saturdays 8:45-3:00.
Candidate must be able to lift 50lbs.
Duties
- Greet clients and their pets in a friendly and welcoming manner.
- Schedule appointments and manage the clinic's calendar efficiently.
- Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries regarding services, procedures, and pet care.
- Maintain accurate patient records, including medical histories and vaccination information.
- Process payments and manage billing inquiries.
- Provide information to clients about pet grooming, care, and health-related questions.
- Ensure the reception area is clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a veterinary or animal care setting is preferred, but not required.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to empathize with pet owners.
- Proficiency in multitasking and managing time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- A genuine love for animals and commitment to providing high-quality care.
