What are the responsibilities and job description for the Veterinary Receptionist position at Auburn Valley Animal Clinic?
Job Summary
About Auburn Valley Animal Clinic
We are a proudly independent and privately-owned practice—not a corporate entity. Here, your voice matters. Our receptionists work side-by-side with the practice owners (who are also our veterinarians), ensuring that personal and client feedback is heard and solutions are customized to our clinic’s needs, not just a “one size fits all” series of systems. We believe in high-level communication to guide patient treatment and a culture of continuous growth.
Why Join Our Team?
- Tech-Forward Workflow: We leverage cutting-edge AI tools (like VetDodo Reception Tools and ScribbleVet AI Scribe) to manage communications and medical notes, allowing you to focus more on the person in front of you rather than manual data entry.
- Paper-Light Efficiency: We are committed to conserving resources and maximizing efficiency through a nearly paperless digital environment.
- Professional Growth: We don't just hire for the now; we invest in our staff with continuing education (CE) opportunities and community outreach.
- Client Advocacy: We offer flexible payment options to ensure our clients have more ways to say "yes" to the care their pets need.
Responsibilities
- Greet clients warmly, schedule appointments, and handle all front desk communications with professionalism and enthusiasm
- Manage medical billing, collections, and payment processing accurately and efficiently
- Assist with animal handling tasks such as pet care instructions, and basic animal restraint when needed
- Facilitate communication between pet owners and veterinary team regarding treatment plans, follow-up care, and medication instructions
- Ensure a clean, organized reception area that promotes a positive client experience while adhering to safety protocols including animal husbandry standards
Experience
The Role
We are looking for a goal-oriented leader with exceptional interpersonal skills. As the Lead Receptionist, you are the face of our clinic and the first touch in our clients’ experience.
Key Responsibilities & Requirements:
- Clear Communication: Lead the charge in client education and treatment plan guidance.
- Operational Flow: Help maintain our efficiency and master our AI-assisted workflows.
- Direct Collaboration: Partner our team to refine clinic protocols and solve front-of-house concerns
- Physical Standards: Occasional assistance with patient handling is required; must be able to lift up to 50 lbs unaided and remain active throughout the day.
- Qualifications: High school diploma/equivalent required. Veterinary experience is highly beneficial, but a "solution-first" attitude and leadership potential are our top priorities.
- Bilingual Skills: Fluency in Spanish, Tagalog, or Mandarin is a significant asset to our diverse community.
Join us to make a meaningful difference in the lives of pets and their owners! Your energy, expertise, and compassion will help foster a caring atmosphere where animals receive the best possible care.
