Duties and Responsibilities:
The Archaeology Lab Assistant will work in the archaeology lab (located in the Liberal Arts Annex) with the NAGPRA (Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act) Coordinator. Primary duties include assisting the NAGPRA Coordinator with the review of archaeological collection boxes, artifact identification, and inventories. Additional duties include sorting and rehousing artifacts, creating an inventory of current collections, assisting with lab projects as they arise, basic cleaning of lab (e.g., sweeping the floor, wiping down tables, disposing of trash). Student will also be responsible for retrieving, shifting, and shelving collection material, and photocopying.
Qualifications:
Successfully completed a minimum of two anthropology courses (6 ANTH credit hours)

Qualifications:

Must be able to work through the Spring 2026 semester.

Preferred Qualifications:
Major/minor/certificate in anthropology, history, museum studies, or closely related field
Successfully completed ANTH 2120 (Introductory Archaeology)
Successfully completed ANTH 3403 (Collections and Museum Curation Management)
Successfully completed ANTH 4940 (Field Archaeology) or an archaeological field school
