What are the responsibilities and job description for the Vet Assistant position at Auburn South Veterinary Hospital?
We are a 4 doctor small animal clinic in need of a veterinary assistant. Ideally, applicants would have some animal work experience & exposure to the field.
Candidates MUST: enjoy working with animals, work well with humans, enjoy working with the public and be positive, kind, outgoing, professional, dedicated, dependable, detailed oriented and looking for long term employment.
Duties & responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Patient Care- animal restraint, assist with treatments, tests & diagnostics, surgical assistance & monitoring, cleaning cages, walking, feeding, medicating animals.
* Client Care- obtain patient history, answer client questions, review medications, keep accurate records, call backs.
*Hospital Maintenance- sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, cleaning windows, dusting, general disinfecting of the clinic, handling and removal of animal waste, etc.
Requirements- provide excellent animal care, good communication skills, the ability to lift up to 40#, work with and without direct supervision, adapt well to different needs and preferences of your fellow coworkers, feel comfortable asking questions when a task is unclear.
