Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated CNC Machinist to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will operate and program CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines, including lathes and milling machines, to produce precision-engineered components. Your expertise in CNC programming, blueprint reading, and mechanical knowledge will be essential in ensuring high-quality output. Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and monitor CNC machines such as CNC lathes and milling machines, ensuring optimal performance and precision.
- Program CNC equipment using CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software and verify programs through simulation before production runs.
- Interpret complex blueprints, technical drawings, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and specifications to produce accurate parts.
- Perform precise measurements using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other precision instruments to verify dimensions.
- Conduct routine maintenance on CNC machinery and troubleshoot issues promptly to minimize downtime.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, tooling, and welding equipment as needed for setup adjustments or secondary operations.
- Follow safety protocols diligently while working with electrical discharge machining (EDM), or other specialized processes.
- Collaborate with team members on assembly tasks and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives like lean manufacturing practices.
Requirements
- Proven experience operating CNC machinery such as CNC milling machines and CNC lathes or similar systems.
- Ability to read and interpret detailed blueprints, technical drawings, GD&T specifications, and mechanical diagrams.
- Familiarity with electrical discharge machining (EDM), and tooling setups.
- Mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of manufacturing processes, basic math skills for measurements and calculations, and the use of precision measuring instruments like calipers and micrometers.
- Experience working with coordinate measuring machines (CMM), bore gauges, height gauges, and other precision tools.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills; capable of troubleshooting machine issues effectively.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy materials safely, and perform manual tasks using hand tools or power tools as necessary.
