Job Title: Regional Sales Manager
Job Status: Salary Exempt
Reports to: Vice President of Sales & Marketing
POSITION SUMMARY: To represent Auburn Gear and sell its products to customers and distributors within assigned territory. Will be expected to prospect and develop new OEM customers, as well as maintaining current customers. Will work closely with distributors and distributor field salesmen to develop and train them on products, applications, and company policies.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Responsible for all communication and correspondence with customers/prospects
· Take complete ownership of territory as related to sales function
· Provide timely application support to customers
· Internally will expedite own programs, prioritize projects to best utilize resources available, and keep organization abreast of customers/distributor activities
· Give input in developing new products and markets
· Identify market trends, forecast demand and prepare the annual sales budget
· Maintain active sales funnel with action items and execution plan
· Develop robust relationships with customers via travel and virtual tools
· Initiate and follow projects through APQP process
JOB MEASUREMENTS:
· Achieve year over year revenue growth in territory

· Demonstrate as a product authority and specialist to customers and distributors

EDUCATION AND / OR EXPERIENCE/ KNOWLEDGE OR QUALIFICATIONS:
· A BS degree is required with an engineering degree being desirable
· A strong technical product application capability is necessary
· 5 years’ experience selling or support of selling a technical product is required
· Have a working knowledge of hydraulic and/or electric drive systems
