Responsibilities
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary
- Monitor vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure health stability
- Administer medications accurately following prescribed schedules and protocols
- Provide companionship and engage residents in social activities to promote mental well-being
- Maintain detailed documentation of care provided using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems and update resident charts regularly
- Support residents with dementia or Alzheimer's disease through specialized memory care techniques and behavior management strategies
- Ensure a clean, safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning resident areas and assisting with meal preparation
Qualifications
- Prior experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care settings is highly preferred
- Knowledge of medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and emergency response procedures including first aid certification
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities requiring personalized support
- Familiarity with dementia care, Alzheimer's care, and memory care best practices
- Ability to operate EMR systems efficiently and accurately document care activities
- Valid driver’s license preferred for transportation duties; willingness to assist with driving residents when needed
- Strong communication skills, patience, compassion, and a proactive approach to caregiving
