Speech Therapist

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate part-time Speech Therapist to join our team. In this role, you will work with the elderly to assess and treat speech and language disorders. Your expertise will play a crucial role in enhancing communication skills and improving the quality of life for your patients. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in both medical terminology and patient care, with a focus on early intervention strategies.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough patient assessments to determine speech and language needs.
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings.
• Implement evidence-based speech therapy techniques to improve communication skills.
• Collaborate with educators, parents, and other healthcare professionals to support patient progress.
• Monitor and document patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
• Provide education and resources to patients and their families regarding speech and language development.
• Stay updated on the latest research and best practices in speech therapy.

Requirements

• Knowledge of physiology and anatomy as it relates to speech and language.
• Experience working in a school setting or with pediatric populations is preferred.
• Familiarity with early intervention practices for children with communication disorders.
• Strong patient assessment skills to evaluate speech and language challenges effectively.
• Proficient understanding of medical terminology relevant to speech therapy.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients and their families.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
