Overview:
The Business Systems Analyst is a senior-level role responsible for managing, optimizing, and supporting the organization’s accounting systems and financial data infrastructure. This position connects accounting and IT functions to ensure the accuracy of financial reporting systems, with a strong focus on ERP administration. This role collaborates closely with the Finance Team and IT to improve system capabilities and support strategic initiatives across the organization.
Qualifications & Necessary Attributes:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Information Systems, Finance, or related field required
- 5–8 years of progressive accounting and/or accounting systems experience required (non-entry level)
- Required experience with Viewpoint Vista (Vista by Viewpoint) ERP system
- Experience in construction accounting systems strongly preferred
- Proven experience with ERP system implementation, optimization, or administration
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis)
- Experience with data integration tools, reporting tools (Power BI, SQL, etc.) preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Strong communication skills
- Self-starter with ability to manage multiple priorities and projects
Essential Functions:
- Serve as an administrator and subject matter expert for the Vista Viewpoint ERP system
- Maintain system configurations, user access, and security controls
- Collaborate with IT and external vendors to troubleshoot system issues and implement enhancements
- Lead system upgrades, patches, and testing efforts
- Design and implement system-based solutions to streamline processes such as job costing, billing, and financial reporting
- Build and maintain custom reports and dashboards to support management decision-making
- Assist in ERP implementations, module rollouts, and system integrations with third-party applications
- Provide training and ongoing support to accounting and operations staff on usage and best practices
- Develop user guides and documentation for ERP processes
- Act as a liaison between accounting users and IT support teams
- Ensure systems and processes comply with internal controls and audit requirements
