Position Type: Part-Time (20 hours/week, including Saturdays)
Compensation: $21-$24/hour, based on qualifications and experience.

Position Summary
The Visitor Center & Business Manager serves as the primary ambassador for the Au Sable River Valley and provides administrative, marketing, and member support for ARVBA. This role combines visitor services, business outreach, event coordination, marketing, and office management to promote the region and strengthen the local business community.
Key ResponsibilitiesVisitor Center Operations
- Welcome visitors and provide information on local attractions, businesses, events, and services.
- Maintain a professional, well-organized visitor center with current brochures and promotional materials.
- Manage visitor center retail and consignment sales, including inventory and vendor coordination.
Membership & Community Engagement
- Serve as the primary point of contact for member communications and inquiries.
- Support member recruitment, onboarding, renewals, invoicing, and record management.
- Build and maintain relationships with local businesses, government agencies, tourism organizations, and community partners.
Marketing & Communications
- Promote ARVBA members and regional events through newsletters, social media, websites, press releases, and community outreach.
- Maintain event calendars and assist with photography and content collection for marketing efforts.
- Coordinate with regional tourism partners to ensure accurate and effective member promotion.
Events & Development
- Coordinate ARVBA events, business networking activities, and community programs.
- Recruit and organize volunteers, manage event logistics, and support fundraising initiatives.
- Assist with sponsorships, raffles, grants, advertising sales, and promotional activities.
Administration & Reporting
- Prepare monthly reports and provide support for board meetings.
- Maintain organizational records, correspondence, budgets, invoices, supplies, and other administrative functions.
- Perform basic bookkeeping and financial tracking activities as needed.
Qualifications
- Strong communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities within a part-time schedule.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, email systems, and social media platforms.
- Willingness to work Saturdays and occasional evenings or weekends for special events.
- Familiarity with the Au Sable River Valley region is preferred.
- Experience with event planning, bookkeeping, POS systems (such as Square), or nonprofit administration is a plus.
Pay: $21.00 - $24.00 per hour
