Shipping Coordinator

Exciting Contract-To-Hire opportunity on 1st shift in Kalamazoo! Stable, long-term employment with a great team environment. Starting compensation $25-30/hr depending on experience level.

The Shipping Coordinator manages end-to-end coordination of LTL and truckload freight, ensuring shipments are booked, documented, scheduled, and communicated accurately. Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, this role works with carriers and customers on-site and requires no travel.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate LTL and truckload shipments from booking through delivery.
• Schedule carriers and manage freight appointments.
• Prepare accurate bills of lading and shipping documentation.
• Book freight and negotiate transportation rates.
• Communicate shipment details and updates to customers.

Required Qualifications

• 3 years of experience in shipping coordination.

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with transportation management systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Knowledge of bill of lading preparation and freight classification.
• Experience with inventory management.
• Strong documentation accuracy, time management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
