Duties
- Assess vehicle damage thoroughly to determine the scope of repairs needed using auto estimating tools and techniques
- Perform auto body repairs including dent removal, panel replacement, sheet metal work, and structural repairs
- Use MIG welding, welding, soldering, and other power tools to repair or fabricate vehicle parts as required
- Conduct auto painting using airless paint spraying techniques to achieve a smooth, professional finish
- Replace or repair auto glass and perform detailing to ensure vehicles meet quality standards before delivery
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment safely and efficiently during repair processes
- Assist with auto restoration projects by restoring vintage or damaged vehicles to their original condition
- Maintain mechanical knowledge for vehicle maintenance tasks related to body repair processes
- Collaborate with the team on auto estimating and customer service to ensure clear communication about repair timelines and costs
- Lift heavy parts or vehicles safely during repairs while adhering to safety protocols
Qualifications
- Proven dealership experience or extensive background in auto body repair is highly preferred
- Skilled in MIG welding, sheet metal fabrication, soldering, and auto painting techniques
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in automotive repair and vehicle maintenance
- Proficient with hand tools, power tools, auto glass replacement equipment, and airless paint spraying systems
- Knowledge of auto estimating software and customer service best practices is a plus
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with auto restoration projects or working on vintage vehicles is desirable
- Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to quality workmanship
- Valid certifications in welding or automotive repair are advantageous
