Baker

As the Baker at Atwater's Catonsville, you will be responsible for helping prepare, mix, bake, and finish bread and pastry items that are consistent with Atwater’s standards. Must have the ability to make breakfast pastry items, bread, cookies etc.

• Baking from scratch!

• Produce and scale all recipes; label and date product.
• Develop fun, current and seasonal pastry recipes. Costing and pricing items.
• Measure, mix and prepare raw materials according to Atwater’s specifications and recipes.
• Maintain and clean equipment and work area after use or closing. Unload and put away bakery ingredients and products.
• Recognize food costs and minimize over-production and waste.
• Detects and ensures disposition of spoiled and unattractive pastry, defective supplies/equipment, and other unusual conditions.
• Communicates pastry updates or issues to the GM/Supervisors.
• Maintains sales platforms (pastry case, retail space, bread table)
• Follow and comply with health and sanitation procedures and adheres to safe work practices.
• Perform other duties assigned by supervisors/managers.

• Able to follow instructions and procedures.
• Able to communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors.
• Basic baking skills.
• Able to work independently.
• Attendance and punctuality are a must.
• Have or acquire a Serve Safe certificate.
• Able to perform physical requirements of the position (bend and lift loads, not to exceed 50 pounds, and stand and walk for extended periods).
• Able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
