We are seeking an experienced Logistics Pricing Specialist to join our team in Doral, Florida. This role is responsible for obtaining competitive freight rates, negotiating with airlines and transportation vendors, preparing accurate quotations, and supporting our Sales and Operations teams in delivering effective logistics solutions while maintaining healthy profit margins.
Key Responsibilities:
Freight Pricing and Quotations
- Obtain and analyze competitive rates for air freight, airline services, ground transportation, and trucking.
- Prepare accurate and timely customer quotations based on shipment requirements, routing, transit times, and service levels.
- Calculate freight costs, applicable surcharges, accessorial fees, and selling rates to ensure pricing accuracy and profitability.
- Compare transportation options and recommend cost-effective solutions without compromising service quality.
Vendor Relations and Rate Negotiations:
- Request and negotiate rates with airlines, trucking companies, freight forwarders, and other logistics service providers.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with carriers and vendors.
- Evaluate vendor pricing, service reliability, transit times, and capacity availability.
- Identify opportunities to reduce transportation costs and improve pricing competitiveness.
- Maintain updated vendor rate sheets, pricing agreements, and supplier information.
Internal Coordination and Cost Control:
- Work closely with Sales, Customer Service, and Operations to respond to pricing requests and support shipment planning.
- Review quoted rates against actual shipment costs and assist with pricing discrepancies when necessary.
- Monitor market conditions and carrier rate changes to support informed pricing decisions.
- Maintain accurate pricing records, quotation histories, and vendor documentation.
- Manage multiple pricing requests simultaneously while meeting deadlines and responding to urgent operational needs.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in freight forwarding, logistics, air cargo, transportation, or freight pricing.
- Practical knowledge of air freight pricing and ground transportation or trucking rates.
- Experience requesting, comparing, and negotiating rates with carriers and logistics vendors.
- Understanding of freight cost structures, surcharges, accessorial fees, and profit margins.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work full-time on-site at our Doral, Florida office.
- Experience in international air freight and domestic transportation.
- Familiarity with freight forwarding systems, transportation management systems (TMS), or logistics software.
- Established relationships with airlines, trucking companies, or freight forwarding partners.
- Experience supporting urgent or time-sensitive shipments.
- Bilingual: English and Spanish
