Embedded Software Engineer
12-month W2 Contract
$60-$90/hr
Onsite in Phoenix Metropolitan Area, AZ

As an Embedded Software Engineer, you will support mission-critical aerospace and defense programs for a major defense prime. This is a chance to join a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team and contribute directly to the development of cutting-edge embedded systems.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and test real-time embedded software for safety-critical systems.
- Support the full software development lifecycle, from requirements and design to integration and testing.
- Debug, troubleshoot, and integrate embedded applications in a real-time environment.
- Ensure all software development and documentation complies with established standards.
- Collaborate with engineers across multiple disciplines to optimize system performance and ensure seamless integration.
Required Qualifications:
- Active DoD Secret security clearance (investigated within the last 5 years) and U.S. Citizenship are required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related STEM field.
- 2 years of embedded software engineering experience.
- Strong C/C object-oriented development skills on Linux platforms.
- Hands-on experience with RTOS environments such as LynxOS, VxWorks, Integrity, or similar.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and troubleshooting ability.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience developing interfaces for system integration efforts.
- Experience with PowerPC, ARM, and/or RISC-V architectures.
- Experience with real-time computer-in-loop (CIL) and hardware-in-loop (HIL) testing.
