The Operations and Purchasing Assistant plays an important role in ensuring our residents and team members have the supplies, equipment, and resources they need to provide exceptional care and service. This position supports purchasing, inventory management, receiving, vendor relations, and invoice processing while helping maintain efficient and cost-effective operations throughout the organization.

The Operations and Purchasing Assistant plays an important role in ensuring our residents and team members have the supplies, equipment, and resources they need to provide exceptional care and service. This position supports purchasing, inventory management, receiving, vendor relations, and invoice processing while helping maintain efficient and cost-effective operations throughout the organization.
What You'll Do:
- Order supplies, products, and services through approved vendors.
- Communicate with vendors regarding pricing, order status, lead times, returns, warranties, and quality concerns.
- Create purchase orders, receive purchases, enter inventory transactions, and maintain accurate records.
- Receive, stock, and distribute incoming deliveries and packages throughout the community.
- Process outgoing shipments for departments and resident personal packages.
- Monitor inventory levels and maintain organized inventory systems using FIFO practices.
- Assist departments with sourcing products and identifying cost-effective purchasing solutions.
- Enter invoices and support the resolution of billing discrepancies.
- Support resident billing transactions related to supplies and services.
- Maintain Safety Data Sheet (SDS) records and support compliance efforts.
- Conduct inventory counts and assist with inventory reporting.
- Provide backup support for purchasing and inventory functions as needed.
- Participate in special projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in business, supply chain, purchasing, or a related field is preferred.
- Previous experience in purchasing, inventory control, receiving, logistics, accounts payable, or a related operational role preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and computerized purchasing or inventory systems.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with others.
- Ability to safely lift, move, and transport supplies and packages.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Part-time, benefit eligible position
- Scheduled 24 hours per week
- Primarily weekday hours
- Availability beginning at 7:30am is preferred
- Schedule will be determined based on organizational needs and candidate availability
- Occasional flexibility may be needed to support inventory counts, deliveries, or other operational priorities
