What are the responsibilities and job description for the Home Health Aide (HHA) position at Attentive Care?
Attentive Care is a licensed, CHAP-accredited home health care agency dedicated to helping clients remain safe and independent in their own homes. We provide compassionate in-home nursing and caregiver services, including Home Health Aides (HHAs) and Personal Care Aides (PCAs), across the Capital Region of New York.
As a Home Health Aide, you will play a vital role in supporting clients with daily living needs and fostering their well-being and independence. You will be part of a collaborative care team, delivering personalized assistance and ensuring a safe, comfortable environment for those you serve.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assist clients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Prepare meals and perform light housekeeping tasks
- Provide companionship and safety supervision to clients
- Run errands and assist with transportation as needed
- Document care provided and communicate changes in client status to the care team
- Recent experience working through a licensed home care agency
- Fluent English communication skills (read, write, and speak)
- Authorized to work in the United States
- Reliable transportation to client homes throughout the service area
- Experience providing in-home assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) and personal care
- Ability to follow care plans and basic infection-control practices
- Experience communicating client status changes to a care team
- Valid NYS PCA certificate verifiable on the NYS Home Care Registry
- Bilingual skills in languages commonly used by clients
- Ability to travel to client homes throughout the service area
- Willingness and ability to drive/transport clients as part of assignments
- Availability for days, evenings, overnight, and weekend shifts
