Job Summary:
The Production Operator – Quality is responsible for ensuring the quality and accuracy of manufactured parts by inspecting products, using precision measuring tools, and identifying good/no good parts throughout the production process.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
This is a second shift position with a start time of 5 PM.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform work as assigned by Supervisor
- Inspect and verify quality of manufactured parts
- Identify NG/OK parts and support containment activities
- Use measuring equipment including calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, and gauges
- Complete CMM operation, contracer usage, surface roughness testing, and roundness testing
- Assist with process capability studies and CPK measurements
- Complete daily quality audits and maintain accurate documentation
- Participate in internal and external audits as scheduled
- Support production teams with quality-related concerns
- Assist with sorting, inspection, and final approval of parts
- Follow 5S standards and maintain a safe work environment
- Follow standardized work instructions and safety procedures
- Assist with continuous improvement activities
- Notify leadership of quality or production concerns immediately
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Required:
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to follow standardized procedures and safety guidelines
- Basic mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Dependable attendance and positive work ethic
- Ability to adapt to changing production needs and overtime requirements
Preferred:
- Prior manufacturing or quality experience preferred, but not required
- Experience operating CMM or other metrology equipment
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and measurement tools preferred
- Experience using manual gages such as calipers, micrometers and dial indicators
- On-the-job training provided for motivated candidates
Physical Requirements:
- Able to lift up to 40 lbs regularly and chest-high when required.
- Able to walk, stand, bend, reach, and perform repetitive motions throughout the shift.
