From missile guidance optics to thermal protection solutions, About the RoleWe are seeking an Assembler II to perform optical and mechanical assembly of moderate complexity. This position involves cleaning, assembling, and aligning optical/mechanical components and sub-assemblies with very close tolerances. The role requires a high level of manual dexterity and attention to detail to ensure precision and quality in all assemblies.Primary Duties & ResponsibilitiesClean and assemble optical parts, opto-mechanical sub-assemblies, and large assembliesUse hand tools with above-average manual dexterity and follow proper proceduresPerform soldering on various parts as required by assembly instructionsHandle and clean delicate optical componentsWeigh, mix, and outgas RTVs, epoxies, and adhesivesSafely use chemicals and solvents in accordance with proceduresRead and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and safety guidelinesMinimum QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GEDMinimum of 2 years of experience in similar assembly operationsHigh level of manual dexterity and knowledge of a wide variety of hand toolsKnowledge of soldering techniquesSkillsMathematical: Ability to perform basic calculations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and fractionsLanguage: Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals; communicate effectively in EnglishReasoning: Ability to follow detailed instructions, solve problems in standardized situations, and anticipate potential issuesWorking ConditionsRegularly required to sit, use hands and fingers, and handle delicate partsFrequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawlMust be able to lift up to 10 lbs frequently and up to 50 lbs occasionally (with or without assistance)Vision requirements include close and distance vision, depth perception, and ability to inspect parts using precision toolsMust be able to wear safety gear for extended periodsFor California, the hourly pay range for this role is $17.89-$30.59 Please note this range is provided as a general guideline.
