Duties

• Assist clients with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, meal preparation, and mobility to promote independence and comfort.
• Implement motivational interviewing techniques to encourage positive behavioral changes and support clients’ goals.
• Respond effectively to crisis situations using crisis intervention strategies, ensuring safety and emotional stability for clients.
• Collaborate with families, social workers, child protective services, and other professionals to develop individualized care plans that meet each client’s unique needs.
• Manage conflicts with patience and professionalism, employing conflict management skills to de-escalate tense situations.
• Support children in educational and recreational activities while maintaining a safe and nurturing environment.
• Document all interactions accurately in compliance with child welfare laws, family law regulations, and agency policies.

Qualifications

• Prior experience working with individuals with disabilities, children, or in social work is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of child protective services procedures and child welfare practices is a plus.
• Strong understanding of behavioral health principles and crisis management techniques.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate and engage clients effectively.
• Ability to handle sensitive situations with discretion and professionalism while maintaining a supportive attitude.
• Certification or training in motivational interviewing, crisis intervention, conflict management or related fields is advantageous.
