The Risk team at Attain is a group of highly motivated team players who specialize in analyzing credit trends and fraud patterns and creating strategies to mitigate risks while focusing on the customer’s experience. Our scientists overcome challenges presented by big data, evolving fraud techniques and constantly changing customer behavior, by leveraging deep expertise in data analysis, advanced algorithms and story-based analytics. Ideal candidates are problem solvers, equipped with strong analytical skills, suited to approach varied challenges in complex environments. Adept at creative and critical thinking, they can deconstruct problems and transform personal insights into large scale, state-of-the-art solutions.
There are different teams including marketing analytics, fraud analytics, credit risk (new and existing customers underwriting) and data science. You will be able to learn it all in a collaborative environment that values your insight, encourages you to take on new responsibility, promotes continuous learning, and rewards innovation.
The Summer 2026 Internship Program will begin in early June 2026 and end in early August 2026.
Responsibilities
What You Will Be Doing:
Technical Delivery and Execution
Partner with experienced data scientists to:
- Develop and implement advanced automation solutions to eliminate manual processes, enabling teams to focus on high-value initiatives
- Design, develop, and implement advanced data, machine learning, automation, and large language model (LLM) solutions for the Risk domain
- Build scalable data pipelines and platforms to support AI/ML applications, analytics workflows, and LLM-based tools
- Enhance decision-making and operational efficiency, create AI analytics and LLM-based tools, including Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems and intelligent agents
Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement
- Provide analytical insights into emerging problems, trends and portfolios
- Perform primary and secondary analysis to identify short and long-term growth, risk strategies and profitability opportunities
- Work closely with business partners and stakeholders to determine how to design analysis and measurement approaches that will significantly improve our ability to understand and address emerging business issues
- Bring data to life making it actionable and relevant to stakeholders through exploratory analysis of internal and external data sources using advanced and innovative analytical techniques, algorithms, and tools
- Provide regular updates to leadership, peers and other stakeholders that will simplify and clarify complex concepts and results of analyses with emphasis on actionable outcomes and impact on the business
Qualifications
What You Should Have:
- Familiarity with Snowflake/SQL is required
- Strong programming skills in Python is required
- Familiarity with AI/ML frameworks such as Scikit-learn, Tensorflow, or PyTorch
- Deep understanding of Large Language Model (LLM) architectures, prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and advanced text generation techniques will be a plus
- Proficiency with Airflow for building and managing data workflows will be a plus
- Effective communication skills to articulate complex technical and LLM-related concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience with data visualization tools (Power BI or Tableau) will be a plus
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Proven ability to lead project(s) to conclusion within assigned timelines
- Ability to approach problems in a quantitative and qualitative manner, and partner with the business to understand their needs and drive solutions
- Proven ability to work independently and make good decisions with minimal direction
- Strong communication skills (both verbal and written)
To Be Considered For This Program, You Must:
- Be pursuing a bachelor/master’s degree, preferably in an analytical/statistical discipline (e.g. Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Operations Research or related quantitative area), with anticipated graduation date between December 2026 to December 2028
Hourly Rate: $20.00 - $25.00
The base hourly range represents the low and high end of the anticipated hourly range for this position based on the state average. The actual base hourly offered for this full-time position will be determined by various factors, including but not limited to, location, skills, knowledge, competencies, and experience.
