Job Description
Attack-One Fire Management Services is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator with a valid CDL to support land management, forestry, mitigation, and prescribed fire operations across North Florida and surrounding areas.
This role is ideal for a dependable, safety-focused operator who is comfortable working in off-road, rural, and forestry environments and takes pride in professional equipment operation and maintenance.
Responsibilities
· Operate heavy equipment including (but not limited to):
- Dozers
- Excavators
- Skid steers
- Tractors / forestry mulchers
- Water trucks or support equipment (as assigned)
· Transport equipment to and from job sites (CDL required)
· Perform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance
· Support land clearing, fire line construction, mitigation, and site prep
· Work closely with foresters, burn bosses, and crew leads
· Follow all company safety policies, DOT regulations, and job site protocols
· Accurately complete daily reports and time tracking via company systems
Requirements
· Valid CDL (Class A)
· Minimum 2 years of heavy equipment operating experience
· Experience operating equipment in forestry, land management, or construction environments preferred
· Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
· Willingness to travel within North Florida and occasionally out of area
· Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to safety
· Must pass background check and drug screening
Preferred Qualifications (Not Required)
· Experience with prescribed fire or wildland fire support
· Forestry mulching or fire line construction experience
· Basic mechanical knowledge
· OSHA or safety certifications
