Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Medical Billing Account Representative role located in Wesley Chapel, FL or nearby area. The Medical Billing Account Representative will manage the end-to-end billing cycle, including claim creation, submission, follow-up, and payment posting for assigned client accounts. Responsibilities include reviewing patient encounters and coding information for accuracy, resolving denials and rejections, and working directly with insurance carriers, including Medicare, to ensure timely reimbursement. The role involves researching and correcting billing discrepancies, answering billing-related questions from clients and patients, and maintaining detailed documentation in the practice management system. The Medical Billing Account Representative will collaborate with internal teams to improve billing workflows, support compliance with payer and regulatory requirements, and contribute to consistent revenue optimization for client practices.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of Medical Terminology and understanding of common clinical documentation used in outpatient and group practice settings.
- Practical experience with ICD-10 and related coding standards to support accurate claim creation and billing workflows.
- Hands-on experience working with Insurance plans, including commercial payers and Medicare, and familiarity with payer rules and policies.
- Demonstrated ability to research, analyze, and resolve Denials and claim rejections, including resubmissions and appeals.
- Previous medical billing or revenue cycle experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
- Proficiency with practice management or billing software and basic MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple accounts and deadlines.
- Clear and professional verbal and written communication skills for working with clients, payers, and patients.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional coursework or certification in medical billing, coding, or healthcare administration is a plus.
- Ability to work on-site in Wesley Chapel, FL, maintain confidentiality, and adhere to HIPAA and company policies.
