Summary
The Shipping Operations Manager is responsible for leading the shipping and receiving department at the corporate office in Marietta, GA. This position will manage all aspects of the function to control, deliver, and distribute products and materials including providing leadership to a team of associates. He/she will implement processes to deploy an optimized logistic network and operations to support the achievement goals related to efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction. The Manager will maintain high levels of collaboration directly with internal stakeholders, vendors, clients, and employees.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily activities of logistics operations at the location
- Manage staff in the performance of their jobs ensuring achievement of goals and establishing an effective work environment
- Collaborate with the administrative team and other internal stakeholders to ensure that customers’ needs are met in a timely manner
- Ensure that project and department milestones/goals are met
- Identify and deploy continuous process improvement to ensure effective cost management and delivery of high-quality and efficient operations of the function
- Conduct and execute strategic planning for the effective operation of the function as it relates to broader organizational goals
- Utilize technology to manage and plan workflow including using data to identify problems, process gaps, and develop solutions
- Build, develop, and sustain a high-performing team of employees
- Resolve issues from both internal and external stakeholders
- Enforce all corporate safety standards, manages safety concerns, and proactively identify and resolves safety risks
Qualifications
- 5 years of experience in logistics management and/or supply chain management
- High school diploma: higher education degree in business administration, operations management, or supply chain preferred
- Extensive knowledge of shipping/receiving processes with the ability to manage daily operations in a fast-paced environment
- People management experience with demonstrated ability to hire, train, and develop a high-performing team
- Ability to analyze data and conduct root-cause analysis of operational problems
- Demonstrates agile working style with the ability to respond to competing priorities and make decisions quickly
- Familiarity with ISO 17025 requirements preferred
- Position will report to the corporate facility in Marietta, GA.
- Candidate shall be able to work 40 plus hours per week to meet customer demands and company schedule. Overtime as needed
- Candidate shall provide their own cell phone with data plan for connection to ATS email and multi-factor authentication.
- Candidate shall be able to lift 60 pounds.
- Candidate shall have a clean driving record, background check, and drug screen.
