Summary: ATS is seeking Level I RT Technicians to support work at Newport News, VA shipyard. Must be able to certify Level I RT for NAVSEA applications. Competitive pay and per diem offered during temporary assignment. Duration of project is undetermined. 

A STRINGENT BACKGROUND CHECK WILL BE REQUIRED & ALL SUPPORTING DOCUMENTATION MUST BE SUBMITTED IN ORDER TO BE CONSIDERED.         

1. State or IRRSP Gamma card required
2. 40 hours of RT Level I classroom training
3. 210 hours minimum RT gamma experience
4. 400 total experience hours (OJT) in NDT
5. Copy high school diploma
6. Copy valid driver’s license
7. Copy of original birth certificate

Site: Newport News, VA Shipbuilding (NNS)

Work Schedule: 40 per week

Per Diem: To be eligible for per diem you will need to be more than 50 miles from your permanent residence.

• Excellent communication skills written and verbal.
• Applicants must pass a drug screen and have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Work Conditions:

• Must be able to wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection.
• Work from heights on scaffolding, ladders, elevated platforms, man-baskets, etc. 
• Work in confined spaces which will require crawling, stooping, climbing, etc. 
• Work in around operating equipment and industrial environments. 
• Work with radiation and hazardous materials such as cleaners, penetrants, film developing chemicals, etc.
• Work shifts up to 12 hours/day and 7 days/week and travel for extended periods of time
• Ability to lift and carry 100 pounds.
