Company Information: At Radiation Test Solutions, we provide radiation effects testing on electronics in support of large and small aerospace companies and device manufacturers. We are a smaller, rapidly growing company based in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Job Description: We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our team as an individual contributor responsible for testing the radiation tolerance and system survivability of electronic components and systems in natural and/or man-made radiation environments, including terrestrial, airborne, and space applications. As a member of our highly qualified team, expertise in every area is not required.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and implement electrical test setups suitable for performing various radiation effects testing.
- Evaluate and analyze electrical test results for validity and statistical significance.
- Document radiation-induced effects on electronic parts and other materials (test plan/report).
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Description
- This is a “hands-on” position where the applicant will work directly with customers to develop and implement a test plan or follow existing test procedures for whatever testing the customer may want or need. The applicant will work closely with the customer and their ATS support team to accurately simulate the conditions the test part may encounter. The applicant will generate the test reports.
- The applicant is expected to be able to both delegate and personally perform the testing, as required, to meet deadlines and workload requirements.
- The position requires the applicant to both work as part of a team with other engineers, technicians, and machinists on larger projects and be able to work alone to accomplish smaller projects.
- Testing performed in this position can involve radioactive materials. Test requests can (and have) come from all industries and in all scales of scope.
Requirements
- Strong electrical engineering aptitude
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Outlook, and Excel) & SolidsWorks
- Be team oriented and have a positive attitude
- Strong oral and written communications skills, with the ability to interact with all levels of customer representatives
- Good organizational and project management skills
- Strong safety awareness in a variety of settings
- Willingness to travel and work in the field ~ 20%
- Willingness to work occasional night and weekend projects v/s normal day shifts
- Ability to think creatively and prioritize rapidly, as well as manage multiple initiatives simultaneously

- Ability to test to a data sheet
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering preferred; degrees in Engineering/Physics will be considered.
