Production Assembler

Position Summary

ATS Diesel Performance is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Production Assembly & Packaging Technician to join our manufacturing team. This position is responsible for assembling manufactured components into complete, high-quality products according to work instructions, drawings, specifications, and quality standards.

The technician will also prepare components and completed assemblies for inventory or shipment by inspecting, labeling, packaging, and boxing products. This is a hands-on position suited for someone who takes pride in producing dependable products, works well in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, and is willing to support multiple areas of production and warehouse operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• · Assemble mechanical components and subassemblies using hand tools, power tools, fixtures, and other production equipment.
• · Follow bills of materials, work instructions, drawings, product specifications, and established assembly procedures.
• · Verify that the correct components, hardware, seals, fittings, and other materials are used during assembly.
• · Properly tighten and torque fasteners according to applicable specifications.
• · Inspect parts and completed assemblies for damage, defects, cleanliness, fit, and overall workmanship.
• · Perform basic functional or quality checks as required before products move to the next production stage.
• · Identify and report damaged, incorrect, missing, or nonconforming components to the supervisor or quality team.
• · Accurately record completed work, quantities, serial numbers, inspection results, or other production information.
• · Clean completed components and assemblies before packaging.
• · Select appropriate boxes, protective materials, labels, and packaging supplies.
• · Package and box components and completed assemblies to protect them during storage and shipment.
• · Confirm part numbers, quantities, product labels, and packaging contents before products are transferred to the warehouse.
• · Assist with moving completed products to designated inventory, staging, or shipping areas.
• · Replenish assembly and packaging materials as needed.
• · Maintain an organized, clean, and safe workstation.
• · Follow company safety procedures and properly use required personal protective equipment.
• · Help maintain tools, fixtures, and production equipment in good working condition.
• · Participate in inventory counts, process improvements, and general production or warehouse support activities.
• · Work cooperatively with production, machining, quality, shipping, receiving, and warehouse personnel.
• · Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• · Ability to read part numbers, labels, bills of materials, and basic assembly documentation.

• · Willingness to learn ATS products, processes, quality requirements, and safety procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

• · Previous experience in manufacturing, mechanical assembly, automotive repair, diesel performance, warehousing, packaging, or a related hands-on environment.
• · Experience using torque wrenches, pneumatic tools, measuring tools, or assembly fixtures.
• · Familiarity with diesel, automotive, transmission, turbocharger, or other mechanical components.
• · Experience reading mechanical drawings, work instructions, or bills of materials.
• · Experience using inventory, production-tracking, or enterprise resource planning systems.
• · High school diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

Physical Requirements

• The employee must be able to:
• · Stand and walk for extended periods during the workday.
• · Frequently use hands and fingers to handle, assemble, inspect, and package components.
• · Regularly reach, bend, stoop, kneel, push, pull, and perform repetitive motions.
• · Regularly lift and carry materials or products weighing up to [50] pounds, with assistance or lifting equipment used for heavier items.
• · Safely operate hand tools, power tools, carts, and other production equipment.
• · Work around mechanical components, oils, cleaning products, packaging materials, and typical manufacturing noise.
• · Wear required personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, gloves, and protective footwear.

Work Environment

This position is performed primarily in a manufacturing, assembly, packaging, and warehouse environment. The employee may be exposed to moving equipment, machinery, metal components, oils, dust, noise, and varying temperatures. Following safety procedures and maintaining awareness of surrounding operations are essential.

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
