Assembly Technician I
Position Overview:
The Assembly Technician Level 1 is a vital member of our Manufacturing Team, responsible for assembling, installing, and maintaining high-quality mechanical and electrical systems. This role requires excellent communication skills, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, project-driven environment
- Assembly and Installation: Perform assembly and installation of timing belts, AC and DC drive cartridges, slider beds, bearings, shaft coverings, drive cartridges, motors, hardware, and various conveyor components
- Sub-Assemblies: Build roller chain sub-assemblies including sprocket assembly, drive box, sleds, lubrication kits, and end cap assembly.
- Testing and Validation: Assess and tension accumulation chains, test run and validate conveyors prior to completion
- Flex Move and Pneumatics: Work with Flex Move conveyors, run pneumatic air lines, and perform basic manifold plumbing .
- Non-Build Functions: Perform daily 5S and cleaning activities, understand KPIs, scrap procedures, standard operating procedures, ATS LMS sessions, navigate IMPACT files, and perform final quality inspection processes .
- Safety and Equipment Operation: Operate various tools and equipment including tape measure, level gauge, saw horse, tiger saw, basic hand tools, power tools, manual arbor press, genie, and test DC conveyor in SAC testing station
- Basic Computer Literacy: Utilize basic computer literacy skills including email, Teams, shop floor GUI, and workforce
- Maintain or beat project budgets
- Maintain or beat project schedules
- Foster a positive team-based culture within the department
- Ensure high-quality mechanical and electrical assemblies and systems are completed on time
- Fundamental mechanical aptitude.
- Basic electrical wiring skills (DC and AC)
- Ability to comprehend electrical schematics
- Proficiency in basic Microsoft Office products and computer skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Valid PA Driver’s License
- Manual dexterity and ability to lift 50 lbs
- Positive attitude and collaborative spirit
- Flexibility and teamwork in a project-based environment
- Ensure all applicable regulatory standards are met regarding loss prevention, accident investigation, OSHA compliance.
- Works with team members to actively improve the safety of the plant.
- Ensures that the workshop area is clean, organized, and free of dangerous or hazardous material.
- Ensure safety action items are completed accurately and in time.
- Participates in CI initiatives and activities. (5S events, Kaizen events, weekly CIP meetings, Root Cause Investigations, and improvement projects)
- Work with team members to provide input to improve process and workspaces.
