What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dietary Aide, Part-time Flexible Hours position at Atrium Village?
We are looking for qualified personnel to join our dietary team part-time. Hours would be flexible with some day shift and some second shifts available. Atrium Village is a deficiency free, long-term care facility serving the Hills community and beyond. We are licensed in the State of Iowa for our 20-bed Care Center, with tenured staff to provide compassionate, nurturing care to the aging population. We are not federally funded, therefore do not accept Medicare, Medicaid, or Private Insurances- making us one of two facilities in the state that are private pay only. This payment structure allows Atrium Village to staff well above state and federal standards, ensuring that our residents receive the best care.
Atrium Village also serves the community with our 28 Independent Apartments, which are attached to the same facility as the Care Center. Our Independent residents enjoy many amenities such as; one hot meal per day, linen service, housekeeping service, recreational activities, and fellowship. Atrium Village is proud to offer Mass and Rosary every Tuesday through Friday, in partnership with St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
Details
Prepares foods and beverages as directed using sanitary procedures at all times; follows menus and recipes for all diet types and textures.
o Prepares the dining room and trays with proper service ware.
o Serves correct food and beverages at the proper temperature to residents according to their diet order and care plan.
o Cleans and sanitizes all kitchen and dining areas as assigned and in a timely manner.
o Runs the dishmachine according to manufacturer’s instruction and facility procedures.
o Comes to work as scheduled and consistently demonstrates dependability and punctuality.
o Prepares snacks and nourishments according to diet order and care plan, and per sanitary procedures.
o Consistently presents a professional and hygienic appearance.
o Demonstrates safety, infection control and emergency practices and procedures at all times.
o Reports inoperable, faulty, or unsafe conditions, equipment, and furniture to the Dietary Manager
o Attends mandatory in-services and staff meetings as scheduled.
o Remains courteous, considerate, and cooperative when communicating with all facility personnel, residents and family members.
o Assists in the training/orientation of new employees in following established facility policies and procedures.
o Demonstrates correct use of equipment, its monitoring, cleanliness and care.
o Demonstrates hygienic practices for cleaning, storing, and handling of serviceware.
o Participates in quality assurance audits as assigned.
o Assumes responsibility for information contained in the Personnel Handbook.
o Performs any other duties as assigned by the Dietary Manager or other team members.
o Demonstrates ability to handle day-to-day work place stress at the same magnitude as the work stress experienced by other workers employed in the same or similar job.
o Works beyond normal working hours, on weekends, and in other departmental positions temporarily, when necessary.
o Assists with the evacuation of residents in emergency situations.
o Adheres to privacy and security of protected and confidential information.
o Demonstrates ability to handle day-to-day work place stress at the same magnitude as the work stress experienced by other workers employed in the same or similar job.
o Serves as a role model for peers in sanitation, food quality and organization when completing daily dietary tasks.
o Consistently displays an attitude toward resident-oriented care, providing foods that the resident desires in the form and when they desire it to promote optimal nutritional health.
o Performs the essential physical requirements of the job.
