Major Responsibilities

  • ServesasasubjectmatterexpertwithinthePractice. Answers routine questions fromcolleaguesOffers guidance andsupport
  • Communicatesclearlyand appropriately with team members,physiciansandpatients.
  • RecognizeswhentoescalateanddirectissuestotheSiteManagerorotherleadershipand actsaccordingly.
  • Roomspatients.
  • Collectspatientvitalsigns.
  • Conducts pointofcaretesting.
  • Maintainsaccuratemedicalrecordsanddocumentsintheelectronic medicalrecord(EHR).
  • Callsinprescriptions with physicianapproval.Monitors patientflow.
  • Stocksexamrooms.
  • Assistswith procedures andtreatments.
  • Communicates withefficiencyandverifiesthatlab,x-rayorprocedure reports areavailableforprovider.
  • Performsrequiredcomputerfunctionsincludingbutnotlimitedtomedicationreconciliation,codingmedicalandlaboratoryprocedures,orderentryand schedulingappointments.
  • Assistsproviderwithappropriatepatienteducationandcommunicationtoindividualsincludingpediatric,adolescent,adultandgeriatricpatients.
  • Trainsandleadsnewclinicalstaff.
  • Ensurespracticecompliancewith licensurerequirements,FLSA,CLlA,OSHA,ADAandEEO.
  • Answers phones androutestoappropriatesourcewithinthepractice.
  • Performs basicclericalduties.
  • Providesback upforallbackofficebasedfunctions.

  • Meets andmaintainscontinuing educationrequirements

Certification Required

MedicalAssistantcertificationfromanationallyrecognizedandaccreditedcertifyingbodyuponhireorbythecompletionofa probationaryperiod

Education Required

  • High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution AND
  • MedicalAssistingdiplomaorcertificatefromanationallyrecognizedaccreditedprogramOR1yearofverifiablefull-timeMedicalAssistingworkexperience with current certificationaslistedbelowOR
  • GraduateofanaccreditedschoolofProfessionalNursingwithavalid,activeunencumberedNursinglicense(LPN)approvedbytheGeorgia LicensingBoardOR
  • Successful completion of formal medical services training program of the United States Armed Forces

Work Experience Required

  • 2-3 years working as a Certified Medical Assistant in a medical office setting

  • Valid, active unencumbered Nursing license approved by the Georgia Licensing Board
