The Primary Therapist III will care for adults with various psychiatric diagnosis, including those with substance abuse disorders. The therapist will provide services that include individual, family, and group therapy, within a clinical team environment. Coordinates Patient Care
- Facilitates group therapy and develops programming and therapeutic treatment foridentifiedpatients.
- Establishes andmaintainspositive relationships with patients, physicians, allied healthprofessionalsand all referral sources.
- Plansandfacilitatesdailyadult groupsincluding,butnotlimitedtoeducational groups and Psychotherapy(talktherapy) groups and other groupsasassigned.
- Works cooperatively with Inpatient and Outpatient Manager in program development.
- Therapists willmonitorpatients throughout the day while in groups and between group times as needed.
- Completesappropriate documentationforGroup notes,Planofcare therapeuticgoalsand interventions andPlanofCareupdates, Therapist Notes,Crisis SafetyPlan,andCSSR-Sinspecifiedtime frames.
- Group notes havecorrectday andtimeswhiledocumentationiscompleted within 24 hours. Documentscallsandrelated informationinElectronic Medical Recordinatimelymanner
- Checks and audits charts for documentation and charge errors monthly (if applicable in department).
- Participatesindischarge planning and referral contacts with documentationofdischarge plans(ifapplicableindepartment).Takesdailyattendanceofpatients andcalls ifpatients are absent with documentationinElectronic Medical Record(ifapplicableindepartment).
- Communicates treatment issues and medication concerns to Nurses and Physicians daily.
- Participatesintreatment teams withcoworkersandproviderwhileproviding feedbackregardingpatient progresstoplanforfuturetreatment.
- Attends staff meetings as needed.
- Establishes andmaintainseffective workingrelationships with supervisors and coworkers. Performsdutiesasassignedtomaintainsafeand therapeuticclinicalenvironment.
- Providesone-on-oneinterventionswithpatientstode-escalatebehaviorsusingintervention,whennecessary.Attendsdebriefingsonpatientsasneeded.
- Works constantly with confidentialinformationandmustconstantlymakedecisions concerningtrueemotionalstatusofpatients,i.e.,abilitytoharmselfand others.
- Interactsdailywithpsychiatristnurses,socialservices,andothertherapisttoprovideappropriateservicesandprogramstopatients. Interacts withfamilyand outside agenciesforpatient careasneeded.
- Organizational and Professional Development
- Stays abreast of organization’s programs and services.
- Complies withfacility safety, infectioncontroland securityprogram.
- Attends in-service programs as mandated per policy. Manages resources responsibly.

- Participatesinprocess improvementinitiatives forthedepartment andfacilityasdirected. Participatesintheorientationand supervisionofnewemployeesandstudents.
- Assistsin orientingnew staff.
- Participatesintraining and developmentactivitiestoenhanceownknowledgeandskills.Completes requiredfacilityand departmental continuing education
- Licensed by the state of Georgia (LPC, LCSW, LMFT)
- Master's degree in counseling or related field from an accredited institute.
- Five years of related experience
- Full rangeofbodymotionincluding handling andliftingpatients, manual and fingerdexterityandeye-handcoordination.Standing andwalkingforextensive periodsoftime.Occasionally liftsand carries weight upto50pounds.Abilitytodistinguish letters, numbers and symbols withvisionand hearing within normal rangetorespondtoCodealertsand equipment alarms.Work-relatedstressdue tovolumeand time constraints with irregularworkinghours.
