What are the responsibilities and job description for the Flying Probe Test Operator position at ATR International?
The Flying Probe Test Operator is responsible for setting up and operating automatic and semi-automatic testing equipment used in the production of printed circuit boards (PCBs). Working from process sheets and written or verbal instructions provided by a supervisor, this role ensures accurate testing, inspection, and compliance with specified quality standards and tolerances.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform electrical testing of inner PCBs using Takaya machines and ATG flying probe test equipment.
- Identify, document, and segregate defective boards for scrap or rework.
- Rework excess copper shorts using an X-acto knife under a dynascope or magnification device.
- Follow all work instructions, quality procedures, and safety requirements.
- Verify testing results against established tolerances and specifications.
- Communicate equipment issues, test failures, or quality concerns to the supervisor.
- Meet production schedules, including availability for overtime and weekend work as required.
Education and Experience Requirements
- 2–4 years of experience in PCB testing, specifically with flying probe test equipment.
- Experience with Takaya and ATG testing systems is strongly preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to perform precision work under magnification.
- Willingness and ability to work overtime and weekends as needed.
