The SMT Operator is responsible for setting up and operating a variety of automatic and semi-automatic surface mount technology (SMT) machines used in the production of company products. The role involves working from process sheets, work instructions, and supervisor direction to perform production tasks while ensuring all operations meet predetermined quality and tolerance standards.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate and set up Fuji NXT, CP, and IP SMT machines.
- Monitor machine performance and component placement accuracy.
- Perform offline machine setup and solder paste printing processes.
- Operate inspection equipment including X-Ray and MP3 machines.
- Inspect produced units to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
- Follow all process documents, work instructions, and safety procedures.
- Interact with engineers on daily quality and process-related issues.
- Maintain accurate production and inspection records.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives in the SMT production area.
- Be available to work overtime and weekends as required.
Education and Experience Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as an SMT Operator in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong working knowledge of SMT procedures and manufacturing documentation.
- Ability to read, understand, and follow work instructions and technical documents.
- Willingness to work a minimum of 40 hours per week, with flexibility for overtime and weekend work.
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively with engineering and production teams.
