Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and engaging third grade teacher to join our school community of teachers and learners. We are a small private school in Metairie where students are encouraged to learn and grow in a loving, Christian community.
Our third grade classroom is self-contained with 17 students. The position will receive extensive assistance in taking over the classroom, with the current teacher staying to gradually turn the class over to you.
Teachers receive a daily lunch and seven 40-minute planning periods spread over their five-day work week.

Responsibilities
- Plan academic lessons aligned with curriculum across subjects such as English, math, science, and social studies.
- Foster a positive classroom atmosphere that encourages student participation and kindness.
- Monitor student progress regularly through assessments and update families regularly.
- Communicate effectively with parents through regular updates on student performance, behavior management strategies, and developmental milestones.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, behavior reports, and academic achievements in compliance with educational regulations.
Skills
- Strong classroom management skills to ensure a safe and respectful environment.
- Experience working with children with diverse backgrounds and needs.
- Excellent communication skills for effective parent-teacher communication.
- Louisiana teacher certification required.
Pay: $32,000.00 - $34,000.00 per year
