Graphics Specialist
Develop, organize, and maintain electronic files, graphics and documents used in safety campaigns. Develop safety statistical data/charts/graphics such as days away restricted time (DART), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) recordable events and behavior observation program data. Develop graphics media and items for Integrated Safety Management System (ISMS) DOE Voluntary Protection Program (VPP), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) programs for annual assessment. Develop complex safety documentation, graphics and programs based on risks identified by the Industrial Safety Manager. Attend meetings with Industrial Safety Manager, document task requests and maintain a graphics log. Provide log update in writing. Assess, analyze and develop at least two new (2) safety related videos per year.
Work shall be performed at Various 200 area office locations on Hanford site. HLAN computer access in these locations is required.
The successful candidate shall have at least 15 years relevant experience with at least 4 years at a Department of Energy (DOE) site. Experienced (greater than 8 years) with a mix of media including print, illustration, web, animation, 3D and video. Media experience shall be in programs supported by communications which include Adobe Illustrator, Adobe graphic products and Macromedia Freehand. Artistic abilities capable of hand-drawn illustration, 3D illustration as well as software-driven 3D illustration. Video and photography including script writing, shooting, editing, and production experience of safety videos for the communication of employee safety. Interactive design experience includes web design, usability, Acrobat, PowerPoint, and animation. Experience working with commercial and government printing agencies. Experience conceptualizing, data collection, evaluation and collaborating in development of creative solutions for safety campaigns and marketing. Ability to create, facilitate and complete graphic signs and billboards for placement on the Hanford site.
