Heavy Duty Truck, Trailer & Equipment Mechanic

Atomic Transport is seeking a skilled and dependable Heavy-Duty Truck, Trailer & Equipment Mechanic to join our team in Colorado Springs, CO. The ideal candidate is a positive, self-motivated individual who takes pride in quality workmanship, maintains accurate maintenance records, and is willing to work on a wide variety of trucks, trailers, equipment, and repair needs.

What You'll Do

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and equipment
• Perform preventative maintenance and DOT inspections
• Diagnose and repair diesel engines and related components
• Troubleshoot hydraulic and electrical systems
• Use industry-standard diagnostic software and tools, including Cummins INSITE, JPRO, CAT ET, DAVIE 4, and similar systems
• Perform welding and fabrication repairs as needed
• Perform heavy-duty tire replacement and repair
• Monitor, document, and maintain accurate vehicle service and maintenance records
• Identify maintenance concerns and recommend necessary repairs
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Follow company safety procedures and applicable DOT requirements

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience working with tractor-trailers and/or heavy equipment
• Demonstrated experience diagnosing and repairing diesel, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems
• Experience with heavy-duty diagnostic software and equipment
• Welding experience
• Experience with DOT inspections and preventative maintenance
• Ability to maintain accurate service and maintenance records
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, including understanding safety instructions, completing maintenance documentation, and communicating repair information
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong work ethic and positive attitude
• Ability to provide and maintain your own mechanic tools
• CDL Class A preferred
• If operating company vehicles requiring a CDL, a valid CDL Class A and satisfactory motor vehicle record will be required
• Must successfully complete a pre-employment drug screening

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
