Job Summary:
The Claims Manager oversees all aspects of claims processing and resolution within a fast-paced trucking and transportation environment. Acting as the primary liaison between the company, insurance providers, third-party administrators, employees, and customers, the Claims Manager ensures efficient, accurate, and timely handling of all claims. This role plays a key part in protecting company assets, reducing liability exposure, and maintaining positive stakeholder relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the daily operations of the claims department, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements
- Review, investigate, and manage the resolution of auto liability, cargo, workers’ compensation, and general liability claims
- Ensure timely and fair claim settlements through proactive oversight and negotiation
- Develop, implement, and enforce internal claims handling procedures and best practices
- Serve as a liaison with insurance carriers, legal counsel, adjusters, and internal departments
- Monitor claims trends and identify opportunities to reduce claim frequency and severity
- Resolve complex or escalated claims and disputes with professionalism and attention to detail
- Maintain and analyze claims data; generate reports and dashboards for executive leadership
- Mentor and train internal claims staff and operational stakeholders on claims processes
- Support risk management and safety initiatives by providing claim insights and recommendations
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Risk Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in claims management, preferably within the transportation or logistics sector
- Strong knowledge of insurance coverages (e.g., Auto Liability, Physical Damage, Cargo, Workers' Compensation)
- Familiarity with DOT/FMCSA regulations and claims litigation process a plus
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and organizational skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and claims management systems
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work both independently and collaboratively

Pay: $68,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
